The Winsemius Awards are named after Dutch economist Dr. Albert Winsemius, who was an important advisor to the late Prime Minister Lee Kuan Yew from 1961 to 1984 and played a major role in shaping Singapore’s national economic development strategy.

The Winsemius Awards celebrate the long-lasting bond and strong business ties between Singapore and the Netherlands by recognizing and celebrating innovative and impactful achievements of businesses across all sectors. The first Winsemius Awards Event in 2015 was initiated to celebrate the 50^th anniversary of Singapore.

Held annually since 2015 with a 2 year pause due to the pandemic, the Winsemius Awards return in 2022 with the same focus on sustainability as before and with the award categories flowing from ADB-DutchCham’s mission.

The Winsemius Awards represents the most prestigious form of recognition for Dutch or Singaporean companies in Singapore on Collaboration, Business achievement, Innovation, Social Responsibility and Sustainability. The Winsemius Awards showcases the achievements of organizations in Singapore with an interest in Dutch business.
